Did you know that as small as Delaware is, many of its residents haven’t even seen most of what the state has to offer? If you’re one of them, it’s time to start exploring your state. History buffs can visit the Governor Ross Mansion and Plantation, a fully restored 19th century plantation; the historic Burton Bros. Hardware Store, which is still in operation and looks much like it did when it first opened its doors in 1893; and the Cannonball House, which showcases the state’s diverse maritime history. For shoppers, the Shipyard Shops, located along the Delaware River waterfront, offer tax-free outlet stores and great food. The Nassau Valley Vineyards are also a great place to sample the region’s delicious wines. And if you haven’t already, you simply have to get out on the water, whether you kayak or book a tour boat on the Delaware River, book a fishing charter on the Atlantic Ocean, or simply reserve accommodations on a quaint sandy beach. And, for sheer thrills, whether you have a favorite driver or not, catching a NASCAR race at the Dover International Speedway is sure to get your blood pumping. So get out and enjoy your state!

Though Delaware is the second smallest state in the Union, it has a lot to offer, and lucky for visitors, it doesn’t take long to get from one attraction to the other. Such attractions include the Governor Ross Mansion and Plantation, which gives visitors a glimpse back in time of a fully restored 19th century plantation; the historic Burton Bros. Hardware Store, circa 1893, which is still in operation today and looks much the same as it did when it first opened its doors to the public; and the Cannonball House, which showcases the state’s diverse maritime history. For shoppers, the Shipyard Shops, located along the Delaware River waterfront, offer tax-free outlet stores and a great selection of food. The Nassau Valley Vineyards are also an interesting and beautiful attraction for those who’d like to sample some of the region’s fine local wines. Since part of the state shares it’s coastline with the Atlantic Ocean, sportsmen and women alike can get their fill of deep-sea fishing and sailing through one of the local fishing charters. Or, NASCAR fans can cheer on their favorite daring drivers at the Dover Downs International Speedway. Those looking more for relaxation than excitement can simply plan for a stroll along the sandy coast, book a tour boat ride up the Delaware River, take a leisurely drive to watch the colorful leaves of fall, or a reserve a night at one of the state’s several bed and breakfasts.
